همه ساله بعد از گذشت عاشورای حسینی دسته‌های عزاداری روزی را به عنوان مراسم علامت کشی تعیین می‌کنند و در آن روز هیئت‌ها حضور پیدا می‌کنند و کاروان علامت کشی راه اندازی می‌کنند که به دسته عزاداری بنی اسد نیز مشهور است و در غم شهادت کشته دشت نینوا به همراه با مراسم علامت کشی عزاداری می‌کنند.
در محله مسعودیه شهر تهران نیز کاروان علامت کشی راه اندازی کردند و مراسم عزاداری پرشوری برگزار کردند.
