TEHRAN, April 9, YJC - Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff and his Russian counterpart called the US recent missile attack on the Syrian airbase a blatant aggression against an independent state.

Young Journalists Club (YJC)- Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri and his Russian counterpart Valery Vasilevich Gerasimov discussed about the US missile aggression against Syria in a telephone talk on Saturday.
The two sides condemned the US missile attack to the Syrian airbase and called it a blatant aggression against an independent state. They said that the US carried out the aggression with a prior planning in order for hindering the trend of Syrian Army and its allies victories as well as boosting the terrorists and their supporter’s morale.
Putting emphasis on Iran and Russia’s will to confront Takfiri terrorists, the two Armed Forces Chief of Staff said that the fight against the terrorists in Syria will continue and intensified.
They deemed the chemical incident in Khan Sheykhun as suspicious and asserted that Iran and Russia believe that Syria’s suggestion of conducting a field investigation by an impartial group can clarify the truth behind the horrifying incident of Khan Sheykhun for general public.
The two Generals emphasized on the two countries cooperation with the the Syrian government and army to set up anti-terror efforts until the complete defeat of the terrorists and their supporters.
Major General Bagheri for his part expressed sympathy with the Russian nation and government and also armed forces over the recent terrorist attack in St. Petersburg metro station.
