Tehran, YJC. Opinion poll indicates that the majority of Iranians are confident that enemies will receive an proper response from the country’s armed forces in case of an attack
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General
Hassan Firouzabadi speaking in a meeting in Tehran on Monday said the poll was
carried out by the Intelligence Ministry countrywide.
"According to the poll, 84 percent of the Iranian nation
said ‘we are confident that the country’s military forces make a firm response
to enemies of the country and the (Islamic) Revolution’,” he added.
Iran’s military officials say any threat to the country will
be doomed to failure since the Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the
country and their missiles are capable enough to rain down on any target at any
distance.
In November 2014, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity for incessant progress of
the Iranian Armed Forces irrespective of the political developments.
"Our Armed Forces should increase their preparedness
constantly regardless of the political calculations, and should do the
strategic planning by identifying their own shortcomings and also by studying
the enemy’s possibilities and weaknesses,” Imam Khamenei had announced.
