Tehran, YJC. Upon a provincial visit, President Hassan Rouhani said Iran has had 4 percent economic growth in the first half of the current Iranian year.
He who was speaking to a gathering
of people in Birjand, South Khorassan on Wednesday, he asserted that this meant
the advent of a new era of economic prosperity for the nation.
The president noted that the inflation rate has dropped to 17 percent from the
40 percent when he began his office as the president more than one year ago.
He referred to economic downturn and inflation as major problems the country is
suffering.
This is the 1st time the country is experiencing a positive economic growth of
4 percent after two years of recession and negative rates, he reiterated.
A total of 100 million m3 of gas, Rouhani further pointed, will be added to the
country's production per day by the end of the [current Iranian-calendar] year.
Rouhani also assured that Iran will
certainly surpass the problem of declining oil prices which has ridden the
international market recently.
The president arrived in South Khorasan on Wednesday morning to make his 11th
provincial visit.
During his visit, Rouhani addressed the local residents of the province and he
is later on scheduled to hold separate meetings with provincial officials, elites,
scholars, businessmen, exemplary figures and martyrs' families.
