Tehran city council’s special Gaza week

Tehran, YJC. Beside naming a tunnel Gaza, Tehran City Council has donated a one-week salary of its members to Gaza.

Head of Tehran City Council Ahmad Masjed Jamei said "In Ramadan 374 district houses were operational attracting help for Palestinians. In cooperation with councils they are gathering aid to the people of Gaza.”

"The council members were so moved by the killings that they would come to the stations wearing keffiyehs. Some of the members even announced ready to be sent to Gaza,” he said.

Masjed Jamei also provided comments on the signing of a Palestine flag which the member had done prior to their summer vacation said "I presented the flag to the Palestinian ambassador in a meeting. I also held talks on cooperation about the endangered Palestinian cities with the Palestinian ambassador.”

Another member and head of the Arts Committee of Tehran City Council Abdolhossein Mokhtabad has also said that he will launch a concert in favor of the Gazan.

The council members have also decided to rename a tunnel in Tehran to "Gaza”.
