Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker says the UK has been much inimical toward Iran and it needs to pay back.
Spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy
Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Majlis in interview with Tasnim
news agency pointed to a recent UK demand of Iran to pay compensation said "The
history of our country is full of betrayals and crimes by the UK against the Iranian
nation, especially after the Islamic revolution when the UK proved to be a
conspicuous enemy of the Iranian nation, adopting interventional and hostile
positions against Iran every once in a while.”
Maintaining that the UK’s inimical approach to Iran was
clearly revealed by the country’s interventional behavior during the 2009
uprise he said "The British Embassy would offer service to the seditionist
around the clock in the days of the 2009 sedition. The seditionist used to
frequent the embassy whereas before the sedition it would not provide any
service for people.”
"The UK has asked Iran for compensation when the Iranian embassy
in London was also attacked and there were some damages. One even lost his
life, but the UK paid nothing. If Iran is to pay any compensation then the UK
will have to do the same,” said Naqavi,
providing on UK demand of Iran to make up for the damage to its embassy in Tehran
where the embassy premises were attacked 3 years ago.
