Tax protests continue in Jordan despite PM’s resignation

TEHRAN, June 05- Amman's massive street protests showed no signs of stopping despite Prime Minister Hani Mulki's resignation on Monday.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Thousands rallied in the Jordan's capital pushing nationwide protests into its fifth consecutive day.

Protesters gathered in Shmeisani Circle and marched on 4th Circle close to cabinet office where they encountered resistance from riot police and the military.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) backed tax hike has upset protesters, who feel it unjustly targets lower and middle income earners.
