TEHRAN, February 26 - Iran has had contacts and consultations with some members of the UN Security Council over Britain’s proposed resolution on Yemen, said Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.

‘Iran consults with some UNSC members on Yemen’TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iran has had consultations and contacts with a number of the UN Security Council members trying to draw their attention to a catastrophe that the resolution could make based on its perception of the region and Yemen.

No doubt that the resolution is false and not only it would not help settlement of Yemen’s problems but also it would encourage aggressors to Yemen.

He made the remarks after reports have said that Britain’s proposed a resolution on Yemen, claiming that Iran is sending weapons to the war-torn country, is going to be discussed in the UN Security Council on Monday.

“I reiterate one more time that we are not sending weapons to Yemen and these allegations are trying to lay the blame on others. The allegations are made by those who embarked on aggression and violence against people of Yemen.”

He said the resolution proposed by Britain is in line with protecting the aggressor (Saudi Arabia) and creating a safe atmosphere for Saudi Arabia.

British government should make clear its position to Yemen, he said, adding most weapons used against Yemeni people are built by Britain and America and have been exported to the aggressor country by the two countries.
