Tehran, YJC. Head of Majlis National Security Committee has refuted allegations that some Iranian political figures intend to use Oman as a channel to the US as side issue.
Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis said in an interview with Iran Consultative Assembly News Agency that with expanding relations between Iran and its neighbors, Sultan Qaboos’s visit to Iran is natural, adding "The trip must not be overshadowed by side issues. The reality of the trip has to do with the good relations between the two neighbor countries Iran and Oman, as well as the change of government in our country which is highly important and valuable.”

Providing comments on allegations that Sultan Qaboos’s visit is due to a plan to use Oman as a channel to the US, Alaeddin Boroujerdi stated "The trip must not be overshadowed by side issues such as saying that the Sultan of Oman is coming as a mediator or that he carries a message from the US.”

Sultan Qaboos of Oman has entered Iran on Sunday as the first foreign guest to president Hassan Rouhani.
