Tehran, YJC. Hojjatoleslam Vahedi has said that the country’s media and press comprise 50 percent of its deterrence.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Army
Deputy in Cultural Affairs and Public Relations Mohammadreza Vahedi said in a meeting
with defense press staff held on the occasion of the Journalists’ Day "If the
Army, IRGC and other armed forces in keeping with their duty stay fully
prepared to repel attacks, they have in fact made up 50 percent of the
deterrence, while the other 50 percent is due to press,” Mehr News Agency reports.
Hojjatoleslam Vahedi stated "If
the enemy knows what we do, how prepared we are, and how much defense power we
have; if it is aware of our ideological and religious capacities it is natural that
we will have better deterrence situations. This awareness by the enemy will be
due to the existence of the press.”
