TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - OIC, issuing a statement on Tuesday, condemned Trump’s promise for transferring Israeli embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds, asserting that all of OIC member countries must cut off their relationship with any country which recognizes the transfer.
According to AP, the statement referred to Quds’s being announced as Israel regime’s capital as an apparent aggression, calling for a massive demonstration against this act of Washington.
Earlier, aware sources had said that the US President Donal Trump signed the order of the transfer of the embassy on Monday and would declare Jerusalem al-Quds the capital city of Israeli regime.
The diplomatic source said Trump's decision "could ultimately hamper all efforts to get the peace process moving and holds a very high risk of provoking Arab and Muslim countries and Muslim communities in the West."
The entire Jerusalem al-Quds is currently under Israel’s control while the regime also claims the city’s eastern part which hosts the third holiest Muslim site.
The city has been designated as “occupied” under international law since the 1967 Arab War, which Palestinians want as the capital of their future state.
