TEHRAN, November 7 - Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami said that Iran regards Pakistan’s security as its own security.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Respect for territorial integrity and national sovereignty of regional countries are fixed principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomacy and based on this, we regard Pakistan’s security as our own security,” he said in a meeting with Pakistani Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa here in Tehran.
He also said that Iran is after expanding ties with neighbors, adding Pakistan is of special importance in Iran’s diplomacy.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran will use all of its power and capability to protect regional security and territorial integrity of countries.”
Qamar Javed Bajwa, for his part, stressed boosting mutual interactions between the two sides.
“Our nation attaches considerable importance for Iran.”
He also stressed consultations and talks to settle problems in Islamic countries and said, “Unity in regional and Islamic countries in current fragile situation is necessary for establishing sustainable security.”
