Tehran, YJC. President Hassan Rouhani has submitted a bill to the Majlis that would lay the ground for a previously inked agreement between Iran and Pakistan for repatriating criminals.
The bill has been handed over to the parliament (Majlis) for legal procedures, the official website of the Iranian president stated in an announcement which came on Saturday.

According to the Iran-made proposal, the extradition of the Pakistani and Iranian convicts can be carried out either at the request of the convicts themselves or their respective governments.

In case that the respective governments make a request for the extradition, the consent of the prisoners should also be obtained, the bill asserts.

Back in May, Iranian and Pakistani officials had signed a deal on the extradition of criminals, something that came as part of a broader effort by the two countries to boost mutual cooperation.
