Tehran, YJC. Majlis Speaker says as terrorists have moved down to Iraq, some governments which used to support them are beginning to get worried.
In meeting with the Speaker of the People’s Council of Syria
Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, Iran’s Majlis Speaker said "Those countries which
would support terrorists in Syria have now become worried as the fight has
spread down into Iraq.”
Ali Larijani who was meeting his Syrian counterpart on Tuesday
morning thanked his Syrian counterpart for attending the Islamic Parliaments
Troika on Gaza and said "Syria has always been one of the resistance axes
against the Zionist regime which was testified by the attendance of a
high-ranking Syrian delegation in that meeting.”
Pointing to recent regional developments he said "The
countries that used to support terrorists in Syria have now grown worried over
their own status as the battle has spread down into Iraq.”
Congratulating al-Laham on the reelection of Bashar Assad he
said "World powers have to respect the vote of the people of Syria and stop
disagreeing with the Syrian government.”
The Syrian Council’s Speaker in turn thanked Iranian Majlis for
its initiative to hold a meeting in support for the people of Gaza and said "Iran
has always been steadfast in helping Muslims around the world. No matter how
heavily Muslims are afflicted, Iran always stands by their side.”
Expressing gratitude for support from Iran he provided
comments on the latest state of his country and said "The Syrian Army and
nation are just a few steps away from gaining victory over terrorism. They made
Western colonizers and terrorism-supporting countries realize their mistake.”
