Tehran, YJC. Ayatollah Hashemi has addressed EU Parliament elections in meeting with Italy Ambassador.

Head of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Tehran on Monday pointed to the ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the Six Majors and said "Nuclear negotiations have reached a sensitive stage.”

"If the P5+1 members do not adopt a self-interest policy and if fairness prevails the talks, we will succeed, which will benefit Iran and all other countries.”

Also pointing to recent situations in Palestine he said "The Zionist regime which is the symbol of governmental terrorism commits the worst kinds of violence against a number of defenseless people who are in fact imprisoned within the Gaza Strip.”

He also provided comments on affairs in Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq and stated "The terrorism virus is spreading across regional countries which will be dangerous for all.”

He further maintained that disagreement among regional states helps terrorism grow, adding "The green lights that world powers show terrorists, the usurping Israeli regime in particular, pave the way for them. They do not understand that terrorism itself will burn their fingers one day the same way it did in the wake of their support to raise Taliban and al-Qaeda.”

In answer to the Italian Ambassador asking his outlook of the future Iran set against the background of regional unrest Hashemi said "With its defense power, public support, and experience in coping with separatist and armed groups, the Islamic Republic of Iran is and will be the most secure country of the region.”
