‘Iran willing to offer all sorts of help to Iraq’

Tehran, YJC. Velayati says Iran will be happy to render any help to solve the current situation in Iraq.

Member of the Expediency Discernment Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Head of the council’s Strategic Research Center Ali Akbar Velayati who has traveled to China attended a working dinner with international and social studies academics and media representatives on Monday evening.

In the sidelines of the working dinner which was held at Iran’s Embassy in Beijing, Velayati provided comments on the two countries’ strategic relations and concerns.

In answer to questions about Iran’s reaction to the recent developments in Iraq, Velayati, High Assistant to the Supreme Leader of Iran, stated "The recent actions by Takfiris in Iraq is a result of their outright defeat in the country’s successful elections and the fact that Nouri al-Maliki attracted a lot of votes. The extremists are trying to weaken the outcomes of such a precious victory.”

"I am sure that the Iraqi nation and government will get through this stage, this crisis, successfully,” head of the Expediency Discernment Council Strategic Research Center asserted.
