Tehran, YJC. Rouhani says 5+1 talks better not be misused.
In a speech on Sunday afternoon, president Rouhani said "We hope that 5+1 and the US make the best use of the circumstances that have come to exist, rather than misuse them."
What worries or will worry the Iranians are inimical policies, which are condemned by the nation. Of course we must be careful and at the same time as we smile, we must gird our loins, because after all we have set foot in a diplomatic battlefield.”
Hassan Rouhani asserted "Iran’s policy today is based on two tenets. One is, in foreign policy, to fight suppression, and violation. Persistence, tolerance, and independence are the other tenets in the way Iran constructively interacts with the world. The Iranian seek their rights, the same way as they value negotiations.”
He added "The Iranian negotiation team is in fact trying to realize the rights of the Iranian nation through logic and diplomacy. The red line for all negotiators is the rights of the people of Iran, the independence of the country, national sovereignty, and not giving way to unjust words. Our negotiators have always intended through logic and reason to realize the national rights ever more. The national will, public support, and the guidelines of the Supreme Leader are our actual property as we do so.”
"Although tastes, ways, and tactics may vary, all Iranians, I believe, with all their various tastes, support national interests,” he asserted.
Expressing gratitude for the Supreme Leader’s supportive statements about the Iranian negotiation team, the President added "We are utterly serious at talks. We want to settle things down with the world through logic and reasoning.”
