Tehran, YJC. Activist says conflict, rather than cooperation with the US will benefit Iran.
Chairman
of the Ansar Hezbollah Coordinating Council said "Nuclear diplomacy needs
support. Even if the government is empty-handed it must not say it is. I said
this to Mr. Araqchi as well. I told him ‘In the next talks you are going to be empty-handed,
because the president talked about the treasury being empty when he was
speaking in Tehran University, and so he left you empty-handed.’”
Hossein
Allahkaram who was speaking in the America, Conflict or Cooperation conference
in Isfahan University said "Unfortunately the recent talks were done hastily. And
it is still going on. As a political activist I believe that the government is
acting over-hastily.”
"The
Rouhani administration must pay attention to the fact that it has risen to
power with a small margin and it cannot forget about the other votes. Telephone
diplomacy will never bear fruit and when it does, we see again that the US has
the military option still on the table and says that Iran’s new approach is due
to the heavy sanctions,” he stated.
Asked
if he does not think that the change of behavior is necessary for Iran to preserve
its interests, he said "Right now the arrogance is America. It used to be Britain
once. We follow Mr. Rouhani and his government, provided that he proves to us
via sound judgment that the US is not the international arrogance, and then he
may change position.”
Allahkaram
added "The current measures by the Obama administration are to make America
believe that it has been able to stall Iran by negotiations, so that Clinton
will rise to power the next round. Our country and government must make the
best of the situation.”
